I'm so sorry to hear your experience was so horrible. My self... I have had nothing but, the best of care at Bluefield Regional Medical Center
I was taken to ER by ambulance because I was at work when I began to have warning signs of an oncoming seizure. I informed the staff of my history of seizures and that I was going to have a seizure. I had a seizure while there. The doctor ignored me and instead diagnosed and treated me for a headache. I had my seizure in front of a nurse and even told her it was a type of seizure. She completely ignored me.
My family doctor, Dr. Yates ,was going to a new job, and I had one last appointment with him for my annual physical. We also were going to tie up lose ends with my treatment. I went to my appointment and the hospital had a new Dr. in place, of which I was not informed. The new Dr. did not give me a physical. All she did was go over my medications and without knowing me, took away medications. She then passed the buck with 3 referrals to specialist. This occurred with all the other patients at the time I was in the office as well. All were upset. Bluefield regional hospital, also placed a security officer in the office because they knew full well, that what they were doing was wrong. I will report these actions to higher authority's. This is unethical and against the Hippocratic oath. I fear some people other than myself, are, and will be hurt, If not die, due to their actions. I will take further actions to ensure this doesn't happen again, and ensure that Bluefield regional hospital has consequences due to their irresponsible actions, just as the patients have endured. Sincerly
Despite this place sometimes being slow and not having caring doctors on staff, sometimes, it's really worth going to. I have a very bad chronic pain condition, trigeminal neuralgia, also known as the suicide disease and every time I've went here when my pain got out of control, I've received nothing but helpful doctors and amazing care. Way better than any hospitals I have visited in my area. Be sure to check their wait time on their website though, it will definitely save you sometime.
I'm writing this for someone else. His name is Mr. Miller. He recently went to BRMC to be checked out with some issues he was having. The main nurse in the ER that seen Mr. Miller was really disrespectful, & just plain out mean to him. She wouldn't let him urinate on his own. According to Mr. Miller if you weren't fast enough to pull your pants down to urinate that nurse would just be very rouge & rip your pants & underwear down. From there she grabbed him by the private & shoved it in the urnil & the man feels very violated by what she did. Mr. Miller is 92 years old & he didn't even get to see a Dr. They told him not to get out of the hospital bed & that he was bothering the nursing staff & then when he asked for another nurse the nurse that was seeing him told Mr. Miller that they didn't have time for him. The nurses were disrespectful to him & this elderly man didn't deserve any of the things they did to him. Do not go to BRMC because it is a joke.
